Parents Newsletter - March 2010
Dear Parents and Carers,
A few things to update you on …
Our half term theme
Holidays
We are closing for Easter on Thursday 1st April and re-opening on Monday 19th April.
The Post Office
If you would like to attend & your child is not normally in on a Tuesday, please feel free to come along; we need an adult to child ratio of 2:1 so any extra adults would be much appreciated!
Committee meeting
Our next meeting is on Thursday 18th March. Scrumptious homemade cakes will be served – it’s worth attending!!
Harry the Hedgehog
Our mascot is a hedgehog and is named Harry. He usually lives at Bramble Hedge but he gets bit lonely when the children go home. Would you like to take him home overnight or for a few days? All we ask is for you to take some photos of your child with Harry so that we can display them in the room. We can lend you a camera to use if you wish.
Please, please, please …
Please do not allow your child to bring chewing gum, sweets or any other food with them to pre-school as this poses a choking risk. During the session we have a carefully supervised snack time to minimise any risk of choking. If you would like to bring some sweets for your child to enjoy or to share with other children, please feel free to do this at the end of the session.
Car parking
Some parents are STILL driving into school grounds to collect their children. For everyone’s safety, please park your vehicle outside the school gates and walk in. St Mary’s have told us they will be noting down car registration numbers of offenders and informing the police – YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
Children’s files
Every child has a file of their art work, photos etc of the activities they have been doing each morning. We would love to share these with you so please ask Mary to show you your child’s file. The parents who have looked at them have really enjoyed seeing what their little one has been up too!
World Book Day
Attached to this newsletter is a £1 book voucher to help you join in the celebrations of World Book Day. In the book shops you will find a number of books written especially for World Book Day which cost only £1 or you can use the voucher to get money off more expensive books. Happy
